Cool idea, weak implementation
This is a very cool idea, but I feel like I bought the "proof-of-concept" version. In context, I am an educator, attorney, and web designer. I have a ton of gadgets, but Im never without both my iPod and my iPad. That being said, here are my three major gripes:
1) As others have noted, this app only works with its own proprietary email and browser. You cant use it to enter text into Notes, for instance.
2) I could live with that shortcoming, BUT... this thing has no mouse/trackpad function! Thus while I can type on the iPod, I have to physically touch the iPad to navigate. You should be able to toggle between the keyboard and trackpad, a la Logitechs TouchMouse.
3) Moreover, the text I type on the iPod does not appear in the iPod real estate above the keyboard. All it says is "connected", which is not very helpful and a huge waste of space. This app should mirror my text on the iPod where Im typing it, as well as on the iPad.
Numbers #2 and #3 (above) are deal-breakers for me because my iPod sits on a shelf about two feet above my desk. I have to leave my iPod and reach up to my iPad to do any navigation. Also, I have to squint that extra two feet to see what I actually wrote (since its not mirrored on the iPod).
Hopefully a future release will allow you to toggle between the keyboard and a trackpad, as well as fix these other issues. Once these are done, this will be one of my "rockstar" apps.
